Yeah there are a few ways of getting around.

The more fun way (at least for me) is the running/walking- so you can gain experience and find hidden dungeons to earn extra experience and more importantly-MONEY!

Swimming- not the best way, in fact the worst, but a way no less. You can swim around the outskirts of main land and across any lakes- though it is dangerous, your stamina goes down faster and you get attacked by fish and scary lobstermen alot! You can fight back, but it is harder than when on land. Also you wont be able to recover easily, as you can only sleep on solid ground- so you need to find a rock or swim to land- though sometimes the mainlands shores are too steep to climb.

Stilt Striders- the 'bug thing' thepeenil was talking about. You basically pay the man and he can take you to a selection of places (mainly cities) on the mainland. Though one rider won't be able to take you all the way to the other side of the country- its a bit like catching a train- you get off at one town and then ask the stilt strider there.

There's boats- basically the same as the stilt strider- but takes you to sea-side areas (obviously)

Teleporting- in mage guilds, they have teleporting areas. Though if your a faction that they don't like they wont help and its more expensive for anyone not part of the mages guild.
Alternatively there are some magic items that allow you to do telepoting.

Flying- there are magic potions and spells/enchanted weapons that allow you to fly. It basically walking in th air (sorry you dont get to do a superman pose) but you can easily go over mountains and lakes- so its quicker.

Thats basically it for the XBOX version. The PC version has more- because people have made many mods of there own- like a flying carpet and I have heard 'tail' of a 'horse' mod (get it- eh?) but I havent seen that one.

The only thing is that all the transport apart from running, swimming, flying and magic carpet - is like telepoting- you dont actually get to enjoy a lovely boat ride- you pay then you magically arrive.

I did have something really witty and profound to say, that would have changed your life forever. But I lost most of my memory cells in a freak accident involving chimpanzees. I think. Sorry.

Hey,
-Good to hear that you are getting back into it. Once you know what you are doing its great fun!

Sorry I don't know many places to buy GOTY edition- but I live in England, so I don't know what stores you have out there.

BUT- you could always do what I did and just get the expansion packs for the original.
Tribunal and BloodMoon
That's all that GOTY is really- the first game with the expansions already on it, but the expansions are quite cheap now -well they are over here- and I think that you should still be able to use them on your copied verion (shame on you ;) )

hope that helps a little.

PS- Come over to our new boards, we are trying to get everyone over before these close down. Theres a link on our main site- www.dreamcastersrealm.com -see you around.

Hey Moffin!

Have you ever tried to create your own class/ race using the Editor?? Its great fun- when you work out what you are doing.

If you like -come and tell us some of the stories on the new boards. :-)

I can't stress enough that we would prefer people to come over to the new boards before these shut down- we haven't set a date yet or anything, but we want everyone who posts here to come over.
And in case you are wondering- we should be copying some of these threads over to the new boards- so we can continue the discussions. But we don't which ones we will be doing yet.

Hey dude!
Well I have several characters (like 7)- keep on starting a fresh trying out new things and stuff. But the furthest I have taken a charcter so far is up to about level 40-ish same as you. And I had picked up some cool stuff along the way.

But I'm always restarting the game and seeing which character I prefer. So far it's probably being an Imperial, having the 'voice of the emperor' (or what ever it's called) power is incredibly handy.

And yeah Goty edition is alot better- so much more to do, and harder-with people attacking you in your sleep!

Keep it up man.

Oh and in case you didn't know- we have recently opened up our new boards- and are trying to get everyone to go there- so if you want you can continue talking about the greatness that is Morrowind over there http://dreamcastersrealm.com/phpBB2/ -check them out.

Word.

You guys forgot one really cool method of transportation- jumping like the Hulk.
Make about 50 potions of Fortify Endurance and Fortify Acrobatics (I believe... been awhile since I've done this- also make sure that you've got at least Master's level Alchemy equipment and a high or maxed out Alchemy score).
Take about 10 of each when you're outside, point your character in the general direction of where you want to go, and just jump! This'll make you jump extremely high and far and live to tell the tale. You can easily get across the entire continent in about a dozen jumps.
You may also crash your game doing this too much, but I'd give it a shot at least a couple times... because it really is pretty damn wicked. :)

yeah- I've done something similar to that- I managed to get a few Scrolls of Icarian Flight (you find one near Seyda Neen at the start, when a dude falls from the sky and drops it) and then I jumped- really high and far- and used Potion of Slow Falling to make sure I landed safely- good fun, but hard to get the jumps right sometimes. ;-)

Mournhold should be on the XBOX version- BUT only on Morrowind: Game of the Year Edition. Not just plain Morrowind.

The Game of The Year Edition included the PC expansion packs- Tribunal and Bloodmoon.

Easy way to tell if it is GOTY Edition (if you're not sure by looking at the case) Go to the Map Screen. You should have the BIG Island where most of the action takes place with all the little Isles dotted around it- but in the Top Left corner of the map should be a fairly large Island (much bigger than the other Isles) That Island is the main setting for the missions in the Bloodmoon expansion pack.

If you cannot see the Island- then you only have the original Morrowind. Sorry.

hope that helps. good luck.

One adventure of mine was my first hour of morrowind. I just rented Morrowind from Blockbuster(Very good choice). My new Imperial Crusader had just bought Iron boots but wasn't satisfied. I went on a journey with just a iron dagger. As just an ignorent child I didn't know where Balmora so I went the wrong way.About a miniute later I herd a scream all of a sudden a mage hit the ground I took his stuff. What wonderous items a robe fur hat and a grand Iron SparkSword a good ally in the future. May Tarhiel R.I.P. I wandered for hours( In game time) fighting rats and such. I found myself in in a fishing village Hla Oad I talked to a Monk breton very kind man he was one of few. I wandered away "Bad mistake". I met this Nord babarian FJol i asked him about muderous outlaws,he demanded 100 drakes I said no way" Very bad mistake". He attacked me I ran like hell. No use he knocked me down and he hit me a second time and fell flat on my face in the soogy mud.

LOL - nice one my friend I have had a similar encounter with that 'Bandit'. If you manage to get to the town, the guards should protect you- as long as you haven't fought back. But then again I think it's better to give him the money and then come back later when you are stronger and gibe him a proper pounding!

Oh there is one guy who is practically invinsible. I was about level 60 or so and I found him in the mountains near a town (Caldera I think- though can't remember) and he is suited in full armour with a large axe. And he tells you a story of how he can't remember his name- so took the name of his axe (or something) and that he has never be defeated in combat and wishes that someone would end his life, in an honourable way. And if you accept his offer you fight him.
Now, like I said, I was about level 60- which is pretty high, so far I seemed to be able to kill almost anything with a coupld of strikes. But this guy.
Boy he had me down and out within 10 seconds! So I tried again (after reloading my file) and agian he beat me far too easily.
My friend has told me that he beat him- by cheating. He used a cheat on the PC to set his stats up stupidly high (so high that if he jumped he could get up most mountains!) And he killed him that way.

But I will return and defeat that guy properly, when I am fully prepared - I suggest you try and find him, it's really good.
